Eva Sviridova

Multidisciplinary designer, artist and creative producer. I work across multimedia art, CGI and digital fashion, building creative teams and educational systems.

My journey in detail

My practice connects garment construction, generative imagery and teaching. The timeline summarises my roles; the examples below show how that experience developed through production, experiments and educational projects.

Pattern making and academic foundations

I grew up around my father’s knitwear production, where seeing discarded material offcuts sparked my interest in less wasteful ways of making clothes. My training combined garment production with geometry, measurements and technical calculations: translating a three-dimensional body into flat patterns. I also explored draping and visual merchandising. Winning a national fashion technology competition led to a placement with Vyacheslav Zaitsev.

Knitwear and production · Eurotransprom

At Eurotransprom, I worked as an apparel designer and led the atelier, a separate unit within the knitwear factory. I developed knitwear for brands including Sleep and Parfyonova. We fulfilled commissions for independent designers and produced knitted samples. The work shown here includes my knitwear designs for Jamal Makhmudov’s Sleep brand, presented at CPM Moscow, alongside photographs of the production environment where I worked.

Placement at the Zaitsev Fashion House

I spent six months at the Zaitsev Fashion House while studying fashion design and promotion at university. At the end of the placement, I created a collection, organised a photoshoot and produced a lookbook.

Student collections and experiments with form

During my studies, I developed design sketches and explored garment form through draping. A skirt-and-jacket ensemble won a fashion design competition. For a show at the Kremlin Palace, I created a collection of black garments whose shapes came to life through movement.

I joined the fashion house on my university’s recommendation, working in GRAFIS CAD and draping fabric on the dress form. The images document pattern development and finished garments.

Sportmaster · Industrial design and an international team

I progressed from design assistant to designer and contributed to six collection seasons, working across womenswear, menswear and accessories in an international English-speaking team. This developed my understanding of materials and industrial production. The work was covered by an NDA, and I do not have a public visual archive.

SXEMA: from experiment to studio

I founded SXEMA as an experimental phygital fashion project, then developed it into a studio for CGI, exhibitions and commercial production. I personally led client and partner negotiations, shaped the creative direction and supervised a small management team. I assembled specialist artists around each project and directed their work, combining concepts, art direction, team building and production management.

We began as a community, organising free lectures and meetings around digital fashion. I brought together around 70 Russian-speaking digital and generative artists. Alongside collaborative experiments, we organised digital art exhibitions and public events. At our Supermetall space, I rented a studio and screens to show the community’s work.

Our practice developed along several connected paths: experimental garment-making, CGI and animation, exhibitions, and education. The technical lead, videographer and digital fashion designer from my studio also taught at the School of Creative Industries. We developed the educational programmes together, bringing production experience directly into the classroom.

I built the commercial side into a CGI production studio, leading client briefs, creative proposals, teams and final delivery. Across more than 150 projects, our work expanded from fashion presentation to advertising and visual storytelling for different industries. I combined creative production and art direction with hands-on design where a project called for it.

The studio was self-funded through commercial work, without investors or sponsors. That income paid for the space, screen rentals and independent experiments. I also represented our work through talks, exhibitions and industry events. The selected cases show the fashion research; the studio projects below document the broader collaborative practice.

The school: idea, team, launch

I proposed the School of Creative Industries in Gusev and helped secure a RUB 60 million launch grant with regional partners. As creative director, I co-developed six licensed programmes for a first cohort of 120 teenagers, with the ambition of opening paths to remote creative work without leaving their region. I recruited 12 educators to relocate to Gusev and arranged housing with the local administration.

I designed the mentorship structure: specialist curators, several from SXEMA, supported teachers remotely and visited four times a year for examinations. We also brought in real briefs from local businesses. The dedicated case documents the curriculum, team and student work.

Collaboration with MHPI

Through SXEMA, we partnered with the Moscow Art and Industry Institute (MHPI) and launched a continuing education programme in generative knitwear based on our research.

I brought together former colleagues with complementary expertise in clothing design, generative imagery and knitting programming. We co-authored the curriculum; I reviewed each teaching block and advised what to add or remove. I also taught lectures and established the factory partnership with Rosee Factory.

Seven students developed concepts, generated and simplified patterns, explored 3D prototypes and worked with a knitting programmer during factory visits, with continuous specialist supervision. The course lasted just two months. I arranged with MHPI’s rector for the students to join the institute’s year-end fashion show: each presented two looks on models, making fourteen runway looks in total.
